NKR President urges OSCE MG to bring Baku to constructive path

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 22, President of the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan met with Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group (ambassadors Robert Bradtke of the United States, Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, and Jacques Faure of France) and accompanying them officials who arrived in Stepanakert the day before.

Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement and the latest regional developments were in the focus of the discussion.

Bako Sahakyan slammed glorification of Azerbaijani axe-killer, politicization of humanitarian issues, Baku’s militaristic and terrorist rhetoric as unacceptable, noting that they undermine the negotiation process.

In this context, President Sahakyan called for taking appropriate measures to bring Azerbaijan to constructive path.

He once again underlined that official Stepanakert favors peaceful settlement of the conflict, restoration of the full format of the negotiation process in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group. Bako Sahakyan further deemed conflict settlement possible only when the reality is taken into consideration, when efforts are concentrated on the causes rather than consequences, noting that any attempt to return to the past is doomed to failure.

Artsakh Republic Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan, personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office, ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, other officials were present at the meeting, Central Information Department at NKR President's Office reported.
