PM says Iran sanctions adversely affect Armenian economyNovember 26, 2012 - 18:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - International sanctions against Iran adversely affect Armenia, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said. “The sanctions nullify Armenia’s cooperation opportunities with Iran, including transit transportations. This causes serious problems in terms of organization of export to the Middle East, reducing diversification prospects,” Prime Minister Sargsyan said in interview with Interfax. In this context, he noted that sanctions against Iran, including those affecting currency transactions have deteriorated business relations with Armenia. “EU, IMF and the World Bank are well aware of the serious damage inflicted on Armenian economy. Many European countries experience similar problems over the international sanctions,” he said.
