FIDE president offers to hold chess game in Artsakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has offered to hold a chess game in Nagorno Karabakh.

“There is a high wall at Arab-Israeli border. I propose to place thousands of chess tables and hold a children’s chess game at the still-unfinished section of the construction. I’ve already discussed the issue with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Israeli leadership doesn’t oppose, either. A similar game might be hold in Nagorno Karabakh, with Armenian and Azerbaijani children participating. Chess games perform a peacekeeping mission,” itogi.ru quoted Ilyumzhinov as saying.
