ARMENIAN FM: NO ONE ENTITLED TO INTERFERE WITH ARMENIA AND RUSSIA AFFAIRS

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Speaking of the opportunity of sending part of Russian military bases to Armenia is premature, as no specific decisions over that are made yet," stated Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian. At that, in his words such a decision can be passed only by Armenia and Russia. "Both countries are guided by two basic documents - the bilateral agreement on military cooperation and location of Russian military bases in Armenia, as well as the circumstances over the shares provided by the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. If our decisions keep within the frames of these two documents, no one will be entitled to interfere with the affairs of Armenia and Russia," the Armenian FM noted. It should be noted that Russia and Georgia have virtually come to an agreement over the fate of the two Russian military bases, located in Akhalkalaki (Samtskhe-Javakheti - editor) and Batumi. As it was reported yesterday, the 102nd base from the regions of Samtskhe-Javakheti populated by Armenians will be withdrawn first. As of the reports that part of the bases can be transferred to Armenia, Baku has expressed official protest against it, Regnum news agency reported.
