Elections mere competitive field for current President - politician

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Zhoghovurd daily, New Times party leader Aram Karapetyan decided against running for president.

Karapetyan believes the word “elections” to make no sense, seeing as no one will be actually “elected.” “The whole procedure is meant to legitimize current leader Serzh Sargsyan trough providing a competitive field,” Karapetyan told the daily.

“On December 1, New Times resolved to nominate Karapetyan for president, with the latter refusing to enter the race, true to his motto, “no to elections, yes to revolution”,” the daily said.
