Paper: U.S. envoy holds secret meetings with Armenian party leaders

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Zhoghovurd daily, U.S. ambassador John Heffern held a number of meetings with different Armenian party leaders over the past month.

The upcoming presidential elections in Armenia were in the focus of the discussions, with the U.S. envoy expressing concern over the lack of competitive atmosphere.

“This may aversely affect Armenia’s image,” the paper quoted ambassador Heffern as saying.
