IICO to offer assistance to 200 Syrian Armenian familiesDecember 10, 2012 - 22:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan met with ambassador of Kuwait to Yerevan Bassam Mohammed Al-Qabandi, deputy director of Palestine Charitable Committee at IICO Sa'ed Bughaith and editor-in-chief of Kuwait News Agency Hamed Al-Amiri. Ambassador Bassam Mohammed Al-Qabandi briefed Minister Hakobyan during Nov 29 meeting on the agreement reached to offer assistance of about USD 100.000 to RA-based Syrian Armenians. Mr. Bughaith, in turn, voiced readiness to decide on the amount on the support to be provided to Syrian Armenians. Minister Hakobyan offered IICO to implement long-term programs, considering the accommodation-related problems. Upon the completion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to provide 200 Syrian Armenian families in need with essential foods and warm clothing, with new approaches to be adopted later after proper examination of the situation, department of media and public relations at RA ministry of diaspora reported.
