KAZIMIROV: MORE INTENSE TALKS NECESSARY TO SOLVE KARABAKH ISSUE

PanARMENIAN.Net - I do not consider the current state of the talks over resolution of the Karabakh issue a normal one from the point of view of peaceful settlement, stated former Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Vladimir Kazimirov, Day.az reported. «This is why the settlement of this conflict is vital both for Azerbaijan and Armenia, and especially for Nagorno Karabakh. However, do those contacts though on a high level correspond to this importance? Is do not think they do,» he emphasized. In his words, Presidents, Foreign Ministers of the two states meet 5-6 times a year and this changes nothing. «As the saying goes, «things are right where they started.» Of course more intense talks are necessary. On the whole the negotiation process, rather the absence of regular talks, do not correspond to the importance of the Karabakh settlement and expectations of the peoples of the region,» the diplomat remarked.
