Conservative Party withdraws from ANC![]() December 25, 2012 - 15:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Conservative Party of Armenia has announced a decision to quit the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc on Dec 25. Party chairman Mikayel Hayrapetyan issued a statement, citing ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian’s refusal to join the presidential race as the reason behind the decision. “Conservative Party expresses its gratitude to the first RA president for assuming the ANC bloc chairmanship in 2007. We will continue consistent struggle for establishment of constitutional order and Western values in the country,” the statement reads. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
