  CEC meets presidential hopeful’s request to leave race January 14, 2013 - 16:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia held a special meeting on Jan 14, with citizen Robert Aharonyan’s application to withdraw candidacy discussed. As the Commission head Tigran Mukuchyan noted, CEC had resolved to comply with his request and return his documents. Mr. Aharonyan voiced hope that the CEC won’t impose any sum for voter registration during the next elections. Mr. Mukuchyan, in turn, said the CEC is not authorized to make amendments to the constitution. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
