Economy Ministry expects 9,2% industry growth in 2013![]() January 14, 2013 - 16:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia posted a 10% industry growth in 2012, with 9,2% increase expected in 2013, the country’s Economy Minister said. As Tigran Davtyan noted at Industry Development Foundation board sitting, for the first time in the history of Armenia’s independence, production volume exceeded AMD 1 trillion in 2012. “Our goal is to increase the GDP share of industry output to 20-21%,” the Minister said. As he stressed, industry development will allow keeping balance in the country’s economy and boost exports. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
