At a January 15 news conference, Haykazun Alvrtsyan slammed Georgia for violating the rights of national minorities despite a number of international treaties signed. “Thus, even after the amnesty, the release of the leader of United Javakhk Democratic Alliance is still undecided. Vahagn Chakhalyan’s release would suggest the new leadership promotes development of national minorities,” the expert said. As he noted, Chakhalyan’s issue won’t be included on the agenda of Ivanishvili’s visit to Armenia. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
