 DPA: Hayrikyan’s shooting aimed against Armenia’s image February 1, 2013 - 19:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Democratic Party of Armenia has condemned the assassination attempt on presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan. “The crime could be committed only by the enemy of Armenian people and statehood. Mo doubt, the move aimed to destabilize the country and hamper the normal course of the elections. Highly assessing Mr Hayrikyan’s contribution to the state building and democratization, we think the assassination attempt aimed to harm Armenia’s international image. Democratic Party of Armenia expresses confidence that RA ruling authorities and law enforcement bodies will take every measure to find those behind the crime,” the statement reads. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
