Azeri Deputy FM says Baku not going to shoot down civil airplanes

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan won’t allow ‘illegal flights’ over its airspace, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan said.

As Araz Azimov noted, commenting on the statement made by CSTO Secretary General, “we can take Nikolay Bordyuzha’s remark only as a bad joke. Azerbaijan does not intend to shoot down civil airplanes.”

“But the Chicago Convention has certain rules which the Azerbaijani government has endorsed. Landing the airplane in a certain airport to prevent illegal flights is one of them,” Azeri media cited Azimov as saying.
