Presidential candidate: Hayrikyan facing hard times

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian presidential hopeful Paruyr Hayrikyan is currently in a difficult physical, psychological and political situation following Jan 31 assassination attempt, candidate Andrias Ghukasyan said.

Hayrikyan addressed the Constitutional Court on Sunday, February 10 with an appeal to postpone the elections for two weeks. However, he recalled his application on Feb 11. He also addressed an open letter to the opposition candidates Raffi Hovannisian and Hrant Bagratyan, calling on them to join forces ahead of the polls.

“The current tensions may somehow affect the political processes. My standpoint remains unchanged. Elections in the country are fake. A common candidate won’t be able to change the political situation,” candidate Ghukasyan said.
