Healthcare system development discussed in Artsakh![]() February 12, 2013 - 13:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan met Feb 11 with the healthcare system representatives to discuss development of the field and the existing problems . Healthcare Minister Zoya Lazaryan and responsible representatives of the structure delivered corresponding reports. Describing the health sector as one of the key national security components, President Sahakyan emphasized the necessity of elaborating a health development doctrine based on securing appropriate healthcare access to the broad population strata, increasing its quality and efficiency, from primary medical care up to specialized medical treatment, as well as issues related to the proper distribution of material, financial and cadre resources. Artsakh leader hailed the work carried out by the authorities in recent years, directed towards increasing funds allocated to the sector, improving the building conditions of healthcare institutions, raising the employees' salaries. Special attention was attached to the proportionate development of healthcare in the regions. President Sahakyan called attention to advocating healthy life-style parallel with consistent rising of medical service quality, which will enable to reach a qualitatively new level of public health care and prevent numerous diseases. In this respect, he underlined the need for close cooperation with corresponding structures and involvement of preschool institutions and schools as the initial link.
