ICES hails media coverage of election campaigns

PanARMENIAN.Net - Observers of the International expert Center for Electoral Systems (ICES) have presented a report, based on the monitoring of the media coverage and meetings with Armenian presidential candidates.

According to the mission member Baruch Ben Neria, the Armenian Constitution, the Electoral Code, the pre-election developments were in the focus of the report, with the work of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and local media analyzed.

Another member of the mission, Nikolai Meinert (Estonia) hailed the media coverage of the election campaigns.

“Despite the existing oversights, the coverage of the pre-election atmosphere enabled the voters to shape assessment of all candidates, which ensured pluralism and democracy in the coverage of the electoral process,” he said.
