Armenian citizens to stage sit-in to protest Feb 18 elections![]() February 18, 2013 - 19:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A number of Armenian citizens have announced a decision to stage a sit-in to express their indignation ‘over the demise of democracy in the country’. “The previous elections have proved the voters’ inability to express their public will through the polls. The citizens’ voting rights can be protected only through joint action. We urge all those who condemn these elections and the reproduction of the current regime to join us on Feb 19 outside the building of RA National Academy of Sciences,” their statement reads. The sit-in will be followed by a protect action outside the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Feb 19. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
