RPA rep: activists’ step won’t affect Armenia’s image![]() ![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), deputy head of Serzh Sargsayn central election headquarters Davit Harutyunyan refused to comment on young Armenian activists’ attempts aimed at foiling the European observers’ press conference. He only noted that the move will hardly affect Armenia’s image. Meanwhile, former ambassador of Germany in Armenia Hans Johan Schmidt also slammed the step, saying that the observers’ assessments might have been criticized. European observers called a press conference in Yerevan earlier on Feb 19, with preliminary assessments of Feb 18 presidential elections to be presented. While the participants were going to present the data, young activists Vahagn Minasyan, Karen Harutyunyan and Lena Nazaryan entered the hall. Lena Nazaryan slammed the observers’ statements, saying they legitimize the rigged polls. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
