Armenian National Congress cancels March 1 rally, marchFebruary 26, 2013 - 16:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc earlier filed a statement to Yerevan Municipality on the organization of a rally in Yerevan’s Liberty Square on March 1, to be followed by a march to Myasnikyan Square. However, the city administration proved to have authorized Heritage party to hold a rally in Myasnikyan Square at the same time on March 1. “Deeming the anniversary of March 1, 2008 events as a day for intolerance against violence, ANC finds it inappropriate to hold two simultaneous rallies dedicated to the same event. Thus, ANC cancels its planned rally and march, urging the ANC supporters to gather in Myasnikyan Square to pay tribute to March 1 victims,” the statement reads.
