TURKEY ACCESSION TO EU: EU FMs TO CONVENE EXTRAORDINARY MEETING

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today ambassadors of 25 EU member states did not manage to adjust the framework of the talks over Turkey's accession to the EU scheduled to start October 3. «Unfortunately, the framework of the negotiations was not arranged at the level of ambassadors. I can confirm that an extraordinary meeting of FMs of EU states will be held Sunday to settle the crisis,» stated Spokesperson of the delegation of the UK, which presides at the EU at present. The crisis is due to Austrian position over Turkey's accession. Austria suggests privileged partnership with the EU to Ankara instead of full membership, reported RFE/RL.
