"Grey's Anatomy" star joins "The Hundred" post-apocalyptic pilot

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former "Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington has signed on for The CW's pilot "The Hundred," TheWrap said.

The pilot, based on the forthcoming Kass Morgan book of the same name, follows a spaceship carrying the lone human survivors of a nuclear war. The spaceship sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth to investigate the possibility of re-colonizing the planet.

Washington will play Chancellor Jaha, the leader of the survivors.

The cast also includes Henry Ian Cusick, Eli Goree, Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor.

Jason Rothenberg ("Body Politic") is writing and executive producing the Warner Bros. Television/Alloy Entertainment-produced pilot, with Bharat Nalluri ("Emily Owens M.D.") directing.

Aside from NBC's short-lived "Bionic Woman," Washington's television work has largely consisted of guest appearances since his 2007 "Grey's Anatomy" departure.
