Armenian President attends European People’s Party summit![]() March 15, 2013 - 16:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 14, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the European People’s Party (EPP) summit, as part of his working visit to Belgium. Political situation in Europe, solution to the EU financial and economic problems as well as cooperation prospects in the framework of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) project were in the focus of the discussion. President Sargsyan delivered a speech on February 18 presidential polls in Armenia, post-election developments, reform implementation, cooperation in the framework of EaP project and forthcoming steps. He reiterated Armenia’s determination to continue the implementation of reforms, noting European integration a priority on the country’s foreign policy agenda. Dwelling on some EaP countries’ violation of European values and cooperation objectives, President Sargsyan deemed Azerbaijan’s “pick and choose” policies as unacceptable. President Sargsyan further met with EPP President Wilfried Martens. He thanked Mr Martens and the entire EPP family for the support during 2013 presidential vote and for the positive assessment of the progress registered in Armenia. The two stressed the importance of deepening of the cooperation between parties and inter-parliamentary institutions. Regional issues were discussed upon completion of the meeting, presidential press service reported. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners.
