Defense ministry, CoE reps discuss human rights protection![]() March 22, 2013 - 18:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 22, Armenia’s First Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan met with the representatives of the group of Council of Europe Committee of Ministers on democracy. Armenian defense ministry’s powers and the course of their implementation were discussed, with the delegation members particularly dwelling on the democratic and civil control of RA armed forces, as well as cooperation with NGOs, aiming to raise awareness on human rights protection, combating corruption and trafficking, defense ministry’s press service reported. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
