Freedom House Doubtful on Free and Fair Election in AzerbaijanOctober 24, 2005 - 14:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - "Less than three weeks are left till the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan. The limitation of some freedoms of citizens questions their participation in the free and fair election," the statement issued by Freedom House says. It also says that on the threshold of the election some undesirable incidents took place. As Freedom House Executive Director Jennifer Windsor reported, the whole world is expecting fair parliamentary election. Freedom House called upon the Azerbaijani authorities to create the essential conditions for holding transparent and fair election, to secure the citizens' right of freedom of meetings and refrain from any kind of violence.
