Kasparov on Candidates Tournament: Aronian was “almost there”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former World Chess champion Garry Kasparov said Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian was not ready for a title struggle in Candidates Tournament.

“The atmosphere of struggle proved too much for him. Levon seemed to have broken down back in round 7 when he failed to win a prospective position from Grischuk,” the ex-champion said, adding that Aronian was “almost there.”

Norway’s Magnus Carlsen won the London-hosted Tournament to face India’s Viswanathan Anand for World Champion title.
