Kocharian: I Will Respect Nation's Choice

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Today the people of Armenia are facing a choice: either to have a balanced state government structure or preserve strong presidential power provided by the operating Constitution. I will respect any choice the nation makes," Armenian President Robert Kocharian told journalists after voting. In his words, if the choice is made in favor of the balanced structure "we will work for adaptation of a legislation with the changes that take place, while "no" means that strong presidential power will be maintained." Robert Kocharian noted that he expects a legitimate and organized process. "I do not wish to foretell the outcome and I have not inquired about the voting process yet," the Armenian President said. To note, Robert Kocharian marked the ballot-paper in a way letting the other voters see his "for" choice.
