Israeli Armenians urge Turkish PM to apologize for Genocide

PanARMENIAN.Net - Union of Armenians of Israel, Mendel Korsunski delivered a speech at April 24 rally outside the Turkish consulate in Tel Aviv. “Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan! You urged for an official apology for the deaths of nine Turkish citizens on Gaza-bound flotilla, and you finally got it, despite the fact that Israel is not to blame for the results of the accident. Today, on April 24, Armenians worldwide honor the memory of 1.5 million people that were brutally killed by the Young Turks in 1915-1923. Though 98 years have passed since the tragedy we remember what happened between Anatolia and Syria. We, the descendants of Noah and Hayk, never ever heard an apology for the 1.5 million victims of the first genocide of the 20th century. Now we urge for the apology. It’s high time, Mr. Erdoğan, Turkey came to terms with its past and apologized to the Armenian people,” he said.
