Moscow says cooperation with Yerevan in CSTO framework effective![]() April 25, 2013 - 15:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Moscow hails the effectiveness of Armenia-Russia cooperation in the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Russian Foreign Minister said. As Sergey Lavrov told a joint news conference with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian, “both countries adhere to the agreements aimed at strengthening of the Organization’s abilities to react to any external threat, while providing the sovereignty of the CSTO member states.” “Also, bilateral military and technical cooperation was recently discussed during a visit of Russian military officials in Yerevan,” Lavrov said. “Moscow and Yerevan have always been and always will be supporting each other in coordinating the actions of CSTO member states in the international arena,” RIA Novosti cited Lavrov as saying. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
