Mann: Good Opportunities to Solve Karabakh Issue to Expected in 2006

PanARMENIAN.Net - «No serious political events or elections are expected in countries involved in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in 2006 and we should use that opportunity,» stated OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair Steven Mann. «The talks became activated as never before and reached a rather good level. I do not rule out that the conflict may be settled at any time, however I am asking: why not now,» stated the US diplomat. «None of the conflicting parties can impose an agreement upon the other. However, if that were possible the agreement would not be stable. I am sure that each party has an opportunity to state aside from the talks, «I acquired many good things for my country,» Steven Mann added. In his words, the mediators will meet with Armenian and Azeri FMs in Ljubljana next week, while they will later visit Yerevan and Baku, reported RFE/RL.
