Armenian Leader and Fradkov Discussed Development of Energy and Transport Infrastructures in Region

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with Russian Premier Mikhail Fradkov, reported the Press Service of the Armenian leader. Kocharian was contented with development of Armenian-Russian ties, which resulted in 20%-increase of commodity turnover between the two countries. In the President's words, the large-scale measures held within the framework of the Year of Russia in Armenia formed large opportunities for active economic and humanitarian contacts. The parties also discussed prospects of launching of enterprises conveyed to Russia by Armenia within the framework of the Property for Debt agreement. M. Fradkov assured that opportunities to organize more efficient work of those enterprises are currently discussed. The interlocutors emphasized that the whole spectrum of economic cooperation issues is included in the agenda of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic, scientific and technical cooperation. Matters of development of energy and transport infrastructures of the region were a different topic discussed at the meeting.
