Central Bank may review refinancing rate over bad weather, fuel prices

PanARMENIAN.Net - The refinancing interest rate was left unchanged (at 8%) by the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) board.

According to CBA press service report, Armenia posted a 0,1% deflation in April, with a 12-month inflation totaling 3,9% to equal the target figure of 4% ( ±1.5).

However, CBA report said, inflation risks are possible in near future, with current bad weather conditions capable of affecting the agriculture sector, as well as due to possible revision of energy carrier prices. In view of the risks listed CBA doesn’t rule out further reconsideration of refinancing rate.
