Armenian deputy police chief meets UNHCR representative![]() May 15, 2013 - 20:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy police chief Artur Osipyan met on May 15 with representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Armenia Damtew Dessalegne. The bill stipulating for amendments to RA law on refugees, as well as provision of identity cards and travel documents to Armenia-based refugees in line with 1951 Refugee Convention was in the focus of the discussion. Mr. Dessalegne expressed gratitude for the inclusion of UN observations in the bill, as well as for effective cooperation. He voiced readiness to continue collaboration with RA police in the framework of legislative reforms. The two further voiced hope to continue cooperation in the future. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
