Sargis Grigoryan conditioned the situation by discussions held on the Syrian crisis at the international platforms. “Both government forces and the rebels acknowledge the necessity of conducting negotiations as a solution to the problem,” the expert said. Turkologist Andranik Ispiryan, in turn, noted that Turkey proved unable to fulfill the task the U.S. entrusted it with. He cited Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdoğan’s decision to involve extremists among Syrian rebels to prove his point. The expert said President Barack Obama urged Erdoğan to withdraw the extremists during the Turkish Prime Minister’s recent visit to the U.S. “Erdoğan failed to reach agreements on the creation of a flight zone and active military operations,” Mr. Ispiryan said, adding that the Turkish Prime Minister’s only success was taking a photo with Obama. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
