Armenian education ministry, ICTP sign cooperation deal![]() May 22, 2013 - 17:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The representatives of Armenian education ministry’s state committee attended Italy-hosted 19th session of the board of governors of International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). The committee leader met with the center’s director of administration and external relations Decio Ripandelli, with cooperation prospects in the field of education discussed. The committee representatives visited Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), with a cooperation agreement signed between Armenian ministry of education and science and ICTP. The agreement envisages Armenia’s joining the international center’s board, setting up of regional schools, organization of scientific conferences in Armenia, as well as contribution to the development of regional science network between RA and neighbors. The committee members also met with the director of the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics (ICRANet) Remo Ruffini, with further cooperation and the opening of a center’s office in Armenia discussed. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners.
