French Senator calls to boost efforts for int'l recognition of KarabakhMay 29, 2013 - 20:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The members of the Artsakh-France friendship group - a member of French National Assembly François Rochebloine, Senators Bernard Saugey, Henri de Raincourt - shared their impressions with Armenian journalists after a visit to the Nagrono Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic. The members of the friendship group briefed journalists about their tour over NKR, including visits to Stepanakert airport, Shushi museum. As they noted, they aimed to familiarize themselves on with the situation in the Republic and promote a peaceful life in Artsakh. Mr Saugey, in turn noted, that he last visited the country 20 years ago, during the war. “The Republic’s development over the past years is obvious, though much has yet to be done. I was very impressed with the efforts the Republic’s leadership takes to achieve progress,” he noted. The French Senator further urged to struggle for international recognition of the Republic, as well as the protection of the latter’s rights. “During out visit, we met several generals who said they wanted to be the soldiers of peace. I was very impressed with their statement. The Artsakh-France friendship group is a minor structure, which however, can promote that goal,” he stressed.
