ICG Expects Concrete Outcomes of Meeting of Armenian and Azeri Presidents

PanARMENIAN.Net - The International Crisis Group (ICG) expects concrete outcomes of the February meeting of Armenian and Azeri Presidents Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev, International Crisis Group Vice President Alain Deletroz stated. «I hope there will be outcomes, as the FMs of the two countries held very useful talks. However, everything will depend on whether «chemistry» in human relations between the Presidents will appear. We are all human and after that we are politicians,» he remarked. Answering the question whether the fact that Armenia is closest military ally of Russia can have a negative impact on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue, as Azerbaijan fears the military power of Armenia is based on Moscow's support, Alain Deletroz stated that such moods are really wide-spread in Azerbaijan. «You hear things like that nearly at every turn there. I suppose that deployment of the Russian military base in Armenia can be used by Moscow as an additional factor, stimulating both parties to search for compromise,» the summed up, reported Vremya Novostey.
