PACE President urges to intensify Karabakh talks![]() May 31, 2013 - 13:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Council of Europe plays a crucial role in the region, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Jean-Claude Mignon said. “Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan need our support, while we need your political assistance. Establishment of democracy is a key point in our activity,” PACE President said, stressing the importance of conflict solution. He noted that chairmanship in the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers increases Armenia’s opportunities in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. “We hope we won’t miss the unique chance we are currently given. We have great expectations from Armenia,” Mr. Jean-Claude Mignon said, adding that Baku and Tbilisi still have a lot to accomplish despite the progress they reported. Armenia assumed chairmanship in the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers on May 16 for the next 6 months. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
