During the meeting the Chair of the Austrian parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee presented to the Armenian Speaker Austria's position on the European Neighborhood Policy and relations with Armenia. The interlocutors also noted the importance of the Armenia-EU Action Plan implementation within the European Neighborhood Policy and promotion of democratic reforms in Armenia. By Mr. Schieder's request, Artur Baghdassaryan briefed on the situation in Armenia after the referendum on the constitutional amendments held in the republic last November. The parties also referred to the regional cooperation. January 20 Artur Baghdassrayan is expected to address the international conference with a report "On the Strategy of Promotion of Democratization in the Post Socialist States". The conference will be held with the assistance of the EU and the Austrian Institute of Humanities.
