Azerbaijan wants a return to the period before 1988, which is impossible. We believe that Azerbaijan and Artsakh must recognize each other,” David Babayan said. “Different solutions to Nagorno Karabakh issue were offered in the 20th century. The current option at least allows for the preservation of NKR security,” Mr. Babayan said, describing Lavrov’s statement as a call for intensification of the negotiation process.
