Syunik province governor temporarily rests office

PanARMENIAN.Net - Syunik province governor Suren Khachatryan announced a decision to temporarily rest his office.

“I am sorry for not being able to prevent the tragedy near my house. Every one is accountable for what they have done. I have resolved to temporarily rest office until the completion of the preliminary investigation,” the governor’s statement reads.

It’s noteworthy that a former mayoral candidate Avetik Budagyan, born in1970, was killed in the city of Goris on Saturday, June 1 evening.

Ex-commander of Goris regiment Artak Budaghyan and Nikolay Abrahamyan were taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds.

An investigation is underway.
