Relics of Holy Echmiadzin Exhibition Opened in Hermitage

PanARMENIAN.Net - Exhibition titled "Relics of Holy Echmiadzin" opened in the Hermitage January 24 within the framework of the Year of Armenia in Russia. All of 25 the exhibits are of great art value. The exposition includes silver, gold, encrustation with colored stones, samples of art metal and embroidery. Sacerdotal robes and items symbolizing holy orders and the power of the Armenian Church clergy are also presented.



Triptychs and crosses appear as the most important part of the exhibition. They comprise valueless relics of Christian church - elements of the True Cross, Noah's Ark, relics of Armenian saints. The exhibition will close on February 19, 2006, reported Museums of Russia portal reported.
