Krypton shown falling apart at the hands of General Zod (Michael Shannon) as Jor-El (Russell Crowe) launches his infant son into space, and years later, the "Armageddon"-like destruction comes to Earth. Luckily, Clark Kent is willing to put on his family crest and fight for humanity as Superman, per instructions from his biological father. "You can save them," Jor-El tells his grown son.
