Millennium Entertainment nabs Shia LaBeouf’s “Charlie Countryman"![]() June 11, 2013 - 15:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - After undergoing an edit since its debut at this year's Sundance Film Festival, Fredrik Bond's stylish thriller "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman" has been acquired for U.S. distribution by Millennium Entertainment, which will release the movie later this year, TheWrap said. Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood star as young lovers Charlie and Gabi, whose budding romance is threatened by a vicious gangster (Mads Mikkelsen) who has already laid claim to Gabi and has no intention of letting her go. Charlie is then forced to enter the violent Romanian underworld in order to protect her. Til Schweiger and Melissa Leo co-star alongside Rupert Grint, James Buckley and Aubrey Plaza. Matt Drake wrote "Charlie Countryman," which was a passion project for LaBeouf, who relished the chance to get into character overseas. The movie was produced by Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa of Bona Fide Productions, Craig J. Flores of Voltage Pictures and William Horberg of Wonderful Films.
