PM slams reports on his being offshore company shareholder

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Sargsyan said he is accused of establishing an offshore company, aiming to take away someone’s business or develop a plan for indemnification.

He further noted it a bad method to harm a person’s reputation.

“In answer to Haykakan Zhamanak paper’s question where I was the day the company was registered I answered I was on official visit to Prague with a lot of journalists. This is not the first case I hear such accusations. I was accused of abusing power when I occupied the post of Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA). Rumors later circulated suggesting I owned Nairit plant,” he said.

The prime minister further said a law on the registration of high-level officials’ property was adopted through the efforts of the government and political majority.
