Petrosian scored 6,5 points out of 9 to finish in the 13th spot among 220 participants of the 2nd Grand Europe Open in Gold Sands, Bulgaria. Avetik Grigoryan and David Paravyan gained 5,5 points each, Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian scored 5 points, Valentin Panbukchian – 4,5 points. Grandmaster Nils Grandelius (Sweden) won the Bulgaria-hosted tournament with 7,5 points.
