Kocharian Not Aware of Price for Russian Gas from April 1

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Robert Kocharian is not aware of the price for the Russian gas that will come in force from April 1. During the meeting with the Armenian community of Sweden he said that Armenia and Russia are continuing negotiations on the mechanisms of compensation for the new gas tariffs. Robert Kocharian considers that the scheme can function for 2-5 years. He also stressed that Armenia attaches great importance to the abuilding Iran-Armenia gas pipeline, which will allow raising the level of the energy security of the republic. The Armenian leader also reminded that the pipeline through which Armenia received gas is lying via North Caucasus and Georgia and "does not guarantee continuous gas supply to the republic," reported Mediamax.
