Ex-Fresno baseball standout to speak at Armenian church event![]() June 21, 2013 - 13:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Fresno State baseball standout David "Buzz" Nitschke will keynote the Independence Month Dinner of the First Armenian Presbyterian Church Men's Fellowship that will take place on July 9 at the church campus, Fresno Bee reports. Nitschke earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association first-team honors as a catcher in 1967. He was selected by the New York Mets in the ninth round of the major league draft and played eight seasons in the Mets, St. Louis and Oakland organizations.
