The majority of documents contain correspondence between the head of Armenian Church in Iran Archbishop Nerses Melik-Tangian (1913-1948) and Armenian deputies. The letters unveil conflicting situations between the Atropatene eparchy, military commander of the Iranian city of Maku and villagers. Every year in July, Armenians set out on a pilgrimage to the monastery, with the 2013 pilgrimage set for July 4-6.
