President: to some Europe is a market, rather than system of valuesJune 26, 2013 - 11:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Sezh Sargsyan met with his Polish counterpart Bronisław Komorowski for bilateral talks, followed by signing of cooperation documents. Among documents singed were agreements on development of freight transportation, cooperation in environmental protection, memorandum of understanding to counter customs violations. The Presidents summarized the results of negotiations during a joint news conference. “Unfortunately, some problems in our region prevent full use of possibilities provided by the Eastern Partnership program,” the Armenian President said. “To some, Europe is a market, rather than a system of values,” President Sargsyan noted, slamming Azerbaijan for bellicose rhetoric and heroization of an axe murderer while expressing intention to follow European path. “Another one of our neighbors, Turkey, an EU Customs Union member striving to join the EU, closed the border with Armenia and is refusing to maintain neighborly relations. Mutual availability of markets and freedom of movement is at the core of our negotiations with Europe, and still, a border with an EU Customs Union member remains closed,” the President said, urging the international community for adequate assessment of the fact.
